Persuasive Pitching: How to Think Like a Commissioning Editor
Getting an idea commissioned is really hard in today's international market, but there are some simple principles that will give you the edge over your competitors. In this interactive session you will learn how to think like a commissioning editor: the importance of the brief, what they look for in a pitch, what influences their decisions and why they might reject your idea. You'll get tips on how to develop your pitch to make it irresistible to potential buyers and funders, and understand what to do next if your idea is rejected.
Give Me the Money: Fund Your Documentary
This seminar provides an accessible guide to the complex world of TV and documentary finance. You will discover what kind of funding might work best for your project - from a TV commission to co-productions, brand funding, foundation grants and crowdfunding - and the pros and cons of each. You'll learn what different funders look for in a pitch and find out how to track down lesser known sources of funding. Packed with case studies, this session is designed to both demystify the process and inspire you to regard funding as one of the most exciting and creative parts of production.
